Google Analytics for Beginners by Pat Grady of RhinoFish…

  • by Missy Ward

The Central Florida Internet Marketing Monthly Meetup, hosted by Affiliate Summit took place last night.

Pat Grady, owner of RhinoFish Media, provided an informative session to a packed house on Google Analytics for Beginners which covered:

  • tracking code basics
  • tagging URLs
  • traffic sources and reporting basics
  • events and goals basics
  • and content experiments basics

The session was a general introduction to the basic areas and functioning of Analytics, followed by Q&A. By demystifying the fundamentals, Pat set the stage for future exploration of this complex and powerful analysis platform.

Attendees left with a thorough understanding of the basics and the folks that came with a basic foundation of GA learned a few tricks to apply to their business, too.

Affiliate Marketers Give Back Raises over $86,000 for the…

  • by Missy Ward

At approximately 2pm ET on Sunday, October, 21st, Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back crossed the 39.3 mile finish line of the 2012 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer New York City.

Our team raised $86,688.36 and a total of $8.3 million was raised for this walk to advance access to care and find a cure for breast cancer.

@missyward @amgb Bravo!! What a great team – & such great weather this weekend, right? Thank you for all your support & hard work.

— Avon Walk (@avonwalks) October 22, 2012

The Avon Walk New York, the eighth of nine Avon Walks this year, attracted more than 3,400 participants from 46 states and Washington DC, as well as eight countries, and drew 429 men and 401 breast cancer survivors to raise life-saving funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Here is a list of grants that were awarded during closing ceremonies. It was so exciting to see all of our fundraising being disbursed right in front of us!

We were also thrilled to find out that Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back was the 2nd largest fundraising team during this walk and both myself and Shawn Collins were in the top 10 of individual fundraisers.

We had an amazing, yet grueling time on the walk and a ton of fun at our team Cheering Station on Columbus Circle. Being able to put a smile on the face of the walkers as they forged on through the last few miles was an incredibly uplifting experience.

I’d like to personally thank my fellow team members, all of the folks that supported our fundraising efforts and our team's sponsors.  Without your help, none of this would be possible.

If you would like to help raise funds to fight breast cancer, check out the Race to Affiliate Summit West 2013, where Affiliate Summit will donate $1 to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade for each mile run or walked through December 31, 2012.

Come Cheer on the Avon Walkers with Team @amgb…

  • by Missy Ward

When you walk 39.3 miles over 1-1/2 days, during the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, you experience a lot of different emotions — sadness, joy, frustration, inspiration, doubt, hope, determination and so much more. Couple that with muscle aches, blisters and exhaustion and the whole experience can get a little overwhelming.

I can tell you first hand that nothing motivates an Avon Walker more than seeing all of the folks that come out to show their support by cheering us on along the way. Clad in their Pink flair, with their motivational posters and music, etc.; their energy and excitement make us smile and laugh and gives us the encouragement we need to keep on going.

I was so excited when I found out that Avon Walk for Breast Cancer was giving Affiliate Marketers Give Back a Cheering Station of their own this year, providing an opportunity for our team to not only participate in the walk, but also allow us to cheer on our fellow walkers for a portion of the second day of the walk.

Come Join AMGB at our Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Cheering Station in New York City!

If you're going to be in NYC on Sunday, October 21st, come join Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back at our Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Cheering Station located at 59th Street and Central Park West from 10:00am to 12:00pm. We'll be the applauding and high-fiving the Avon Walkers as they pass by dressed in our team shirts, rocking our pom-poms and noise makers and handing out thousands of fruit-flavored Pink Ribbon candy and Heart-shaped seeded paper pins.

The Avon Walkers can plant the heart and grow pretty wild flowers when they get back home to remind them of their time during the walk.

Cheering with our team is a great option to be involved if you're unable to participate in an Affiliate Marketers Give Back walk. I promise you, you'll have a fun time supporting a great cause.

About the Speaker:

Pat was told he didn’t know enough about affiliate marketing to start an in-house program, so he decided to learn more about it from the affiliate side. A few months later, his first affiliate website was making him more affiliate money than his job ever did, so he quit. Pat has now been an affiliate, merchant, affiliate manager / OPM, PPC consultant, investor, network compliance cop, researcher, beer taster, vocal forum member, mentor, advisory board member, charity donor, biz owner, analytics expert, fisherman, and general smarty pants instigator. Having spent his own money for PPC in his early days, his expertise is in ROI-centric PPC management, with an eye on multi-channel attribution. Affiliate genes in his DNA, his RhinoFish Media PPC agency is performance based. He knows every trick in the book, and thoroughly enjoys “educating” those who pursue unethical ways that harm the ecosystem he calls home.

Cost:

Admission is free. Positano's full menu is available if you'd like to purchase dinner
