ShareASale “Under the Stars” Party

The pictures from the last ShareASale “Under the Stars” Party that was held during Affiliate Summit 2008 West in Vegas this past February are finally available.

The party was held in one of the Sky Villas on the top floors of the Fantasy Tower in the Palms Hotel. In keeping with custom, Brian Littleton of ShareASale.com, did it up again — upscale style — a tradition we could all get used to.

I'm glad that the pictures are finally available. It brought back some great memories!

Shout out for CloudShout!

Just back from Izea Devasaurus put on by Ted Murphy, Founder/CEO of Izea. The idea behind Devasaurus is to get the Orlando Dev Community to meet the folks at Izea, foster local innovation and get us crazy O-town folks mingling.

I got to check out their offices, which were pretty cool and their new innovation, CloudShout which is a tool that enables conversation across blogs and websites. I have to tell you, I was very impressed. While I didn't get the Dev Mumbo Jumbo, I definitely got the idea of what they were trying to accomplish — and it rocks.

They opened up their request for blogger and dev invites today for their alpha phase and I just signed up. They also announced their “Gadget Challenge” in which they are inviting developers to create the coolest gadgets for a chance to win a $5,000 prize to be awarded at IzeaFest.

Unfortunately, I will not be attending IzeaFest this time around as I'll be walking 60-miles in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-day as captain of Affiliate Marketers Worldwide. Maybe the lucky winner, will donate some of their winnings to the walk 😉

Blue Man Group to Perform During Affiliate Summit Boston

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of taking my son and his friend to see the Blue Man Group at the Sharp® AQUOS® Theatre in UniversalOrlando.

For those of you that have never seen the Blue Man Group peform, they are best known for their incredible shows that combine comedy, music, multi-media theatrics and of course, blue-painted skin to produce what can only be described as its own distinctive form of entertainment — one that is an amazing experience.

Currently, their live stage shows can be seen in New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Berlin, Oberhausen, and Orlando.

And now, the folks attending Affiliate Summit 2008 East in Boston, will also get to see the experience known as Blue Man Group as they entertain us with a short performance at the beginning of the Keynote Session on Monday, August 11th.

Mark it on your calendars as this is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

Linkshare Awards & Symposium Recap

I just got back from NYC where I attended the annual Linkshare Golden Link Awards and Symposium.

The Awards Ceremony was as swanky as ever. My travel group donned our glitterati or black ties and headed to the Plaza Hotel where more than 300 advertisers, publishers and partners were already networking and buzzing about who was going to take home the coveted Golden Link Awards.

I twittered each of the winners as they were announced and snapped numerous photos. Linkshare posted this video featuring all the highlights of the evening.

After the celebration, we boarded the Linkshare bus back to the Sheraton to continue on with the post-party.

The next day, a little tired but no worse for the wear, I headed down to Pier 60 for the Symposium. The day was packed with three terrific speakers including James Surowiecki, author of The Wisdom of Crowds; Patti Freeman Evans, Research Director for Jupiter Research and E. Kinney Zalense, co-author of Microtrends. The Dealmaker event was packed to the rim with networking opportunities and lots of great giveaways.

I heard that my name was called for a prize from Ice.com. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to receive my prize, so hats off to the runner up. Enjoy it, on me.
