Look Who’s Walking With Me During My 39-Mile Avon…

It's a little over 2 weeks before me and the rest of my team representing “Affiliate Marketers Give Back” head out to Chicago to take on the 39-Mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on June 5-6.

As of today, we have raised over $56,000. We have passed our $50,000 goal that we sent for ourselves and we have already beat last year's total which was $53,000. I am so proud of my team and honored to be walking with each and every one of them. In addition to my fabulous teammates, I wanted to share with you some information about the other folks who I will be spending two amazing days with during the walk.

Here are some statistics about our 2010 Chicago Walkers:

We come to Chicago from 45 states, St. Croix, USVI, and Denmark.

We range in age from 16 to 75. The majority of us were born in the 1970s (32 percent).

There are 261 male Walkers – 71 more than in last year’s Chicago Walk.

More than 28 percent of us walked in the Avon Walk in 2009!

During the Walk Weekend, 18 walkers will celebrate a birthday! There are 7 Walkers who were born on June 5 and 11 Walkers who were born on June 6.

Jennifer is the most popular name on the Walk this year; we have 92 Jennifer’s participating! Lisa, Mary, and Karen are close behind, though! Johnson is the most common last name.

We have 398 teams, and the largest team has more than 56 participants!

The top fundraising team has raised over $85,000! (Affiliate Marketers Give Back is in 5th place right now, but we're scrambling!

Our top fundraiser in Chicago has raised over 26,000! (I am in the #2 position at $18,000+ and shooting for that #1 position. I've gotta watch out for Suze Orman, a late entry and catching up very quickly!)

And… We have more than 250 breast cancer survivors participating alongside thousands of walkers, walking 39.3 over the weekend because we are In It To End It in 2010!

Affiliate Marketers Give Back 2010 Charity Auction Begins!

In two weeks, Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back will hit the streets of Chicago to walk 39+ miles during the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

We've raised over $52,000 so far and we're still going!

The call for donations for our charity auction generated some great items donated by fantastic individuals and companies. You'll find the list of items below.

All proceeds will benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

How to place a bid:

The auction will run until 3:00pm EST on Tuesday, May 25th.

To bid on the item, simply enter your name, company name and amount you would like to bid. The winner will be the highest bid entered before the auction deadline. (Please make sure that you use your correct email address when prompted, so that we may contact you if you are the winner).

Call for Item Donations for the 2010 Team AMGB…

Based on the success of last year's auction, I'm pleased to announce that we are going to be holding the Affiliate Marketers Give Back Charity Auction again, starting later this month.

I'm asking individuals and companies to please help us by considering a donation of an item or services for us to auction off on the website, so that we can hit our team goal of $50,000 for this year's Affiliate Marketers Give Back, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, taking place on June 5-6 in Chicago.

Donated items will be listed on the website (along with information on the donor and a link back to their website) and folks can bid for the items by providing their name and bid amount in the comment section of the post. Winners will be announced after the auction ends and will also receive a link back to their website.

Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back has never missed hitting our team goal, and we don’t want to start now. So please help us out if you can by donating an item to the auction. It’s a great way to get your name and services out in front of the masses and a great way to help raise money to fight breast cancer.

In 39 Days, I Will Walk 39 Miles to…

To all my friends, family and business associates:

In 39 days, I will walk 39 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer – Chicago. I will be walking with many women and men who want to do their part to help the fight against breast cancer, including the rest of my teammates on Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back.

As part of my commitment, I have agreed to raise $1,800, but being that I'm never happy doing anything at just the minimum, I've agreed to raise $20,000 personally and have set my team goal at $50,000.

I'm doing great, but could still use your help. As of today, I've raised $10,106.00 and am more than half way to my goal.

Now – more than ever – I need you to support this important cause. Did you know that the Avon Foundation has helped more than one million women in the United States receive a mammogram? More than two-thirds of these women were uninsured, and more than half were from minority populations.
